AN INQUEST is due to open on Tuesday into the death of a transsexual from Radcliffe.
Geoff Sheehan, 48, of Farringdon Drive, was found by a neighbour in a fume-filled car at the rear of his home on Tuesday, Aug 26. A hose led from the exhaust into the vehicle.
Mr Sheehan, who only weeks before changed his name to Debbie Fox by deed poll, lived as a woman for around six months prior to his death. He moved out of his marital home, in Bury, in February this year.
He worked as an engineering technician at Albany International in Pilsworth.
A spokeswoman for his family told the Bury Times: "He did not give any kind of indication that something was wrong. We do not know why he did it. No one knows why.
"He left home as Geoff, but lived full time as a woman from then on. And if he could have raised the money I am sure in the future he would have had a sex change operation."
