A 43-YEAR-OLD man took his ex-wife by the throat and banged her head against the wall after losing his temper, a court was told.
Blackburn magistrates heard that David Ainsworth was ranting and raving during the assault, calling his former wife a "slag, a whore and a slut".
Ainsworth, of Accrington Road, Blackburn, was convicted of affray and assaulting Helen Ainsworth in his absence after failing to attend on the date of trial. The magistrates ordered to preparation of pre-sentence reports and Ainsworth, who had been arrested just hours before appearing in court, was remanded on bail until September 22.
Julie Reilly, prosecuting, said that following divorce the couple had remained friends and he still called round at her house.
When he visited at 11.20pm one night, clearly drunk, she still allowed him into the house. An argument started and Ainsworth became aggressive and refused to leave.
