A TEENAGER is believed to have run into the path of a car as he tried to flee a street fight.

The 18-year-old from Radcliffe is in a "serious but stable" condition in Fairfield General Hospital where he is receiving treatment to head and chest injuries.

A joint investigation has now been launched by Bury's traffic unit and detectives into the moments before the teenager collided with a car in Bury Road, Radcliffe, on Thursday night (Aug 28).

Police said the accident happened at 9.30pm when the teenager ran across the road, near to Olsberg Close, into the path of a white Toyota Corina, driven by a 20-year-old woman.

Residents said youths were fighting at the junction of Bury Road and Olsberg Close seconds before the accident.
