ON behalf of our two East Lancashire groups against fluoridation we would like to inform the public that on Monday (September 8) the Water Bill will come before the House of Commons.
There are many amendments to this Bill but one particular one is designed to compel water companies to add fluoride to the water supply when requested by Strategic Health Authorities.
Mass treatment of populations with fluoridation violates several EU directives, conventions and the UK Poisons Act 1972. The water companies want full civil and criminal indemnity if they are forced to fluoridate.
All our members from East Lancashire withhold our consent to water fluoridation and we expect our MPs to protect the rights of their constituents and respectfully request they recognise this and vote against the fluoridation amendment.
LINDA FORREST (Mrs) (Chairperson, Fight Against Fluoridation, Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley), The Hazels, Wilpshire, Blackburn and MARJORIE MARSDEN (Mrs) (Co-ordinator, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale, Against Fluoridation), Moseley Road, Burnley.
