PARENTS in Bacup and Stacksteads are being given the chance to make their homes more child-friendly.
Those registered with Sure Start will be offered a free home visit when their child is six months old to talk about safety.
They will be given a safety starter pack, which includes information about where to buy fireguards, pressure-mounted safety gates and other equipment to help prevent accidents in the home.
Parents with children over six months will not get a free pack but can obtain one from the Bacup and Stacksteads Sure Start office, in King Street, Bacup.
Safety equipment is also on sale at the office on Wednesdays, from 1pm to 3pm, and on Fridays, from 9am to 11am.
To register with Bacup and Stacksteads Sure Start telephone Alison on 01706 871740.
