A FORMER working men's club in Whitworth will be converted into flats if plans are approved by Rossendale Council.
Proposals for the Reform Club, in Market Street, will be discussed by the development control committee when it meets on Tuesday, September 9.
The three-storey building will contain three self-contained flats if the developer, Hollyknoll Property Management Ltd, is granted planning permission.
Committee members approved the plans at a meeting in July with the condition that the developer pay for six parking spaces in a public car park nearby because none could be provided on site.
However, the council's legal department said this condition would not be possible and would lead to a loss of public parking in Whitworth.
Officers are now recommending that the developer provides £10,000 funding to pay for two new bus stops near to the development in lieu of any parking facilities.
