SECOND-HAND dealers are being enlisted by police in a bid to stop thieves selling them stolen property.
As part of a crackdown launched last week, all 60 dealers in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale will be asked to sign a 'code of trading' for Operation Magpie.
They will be required to ask for identification when approached by someone wanting to sell goods and to check property for signs that it might be stolen.
