A NAKED Gun-type spoof awaits theatre lovers in Blackburn Arts Club's Inspector Drake and the Perfekt Crime, by David Tristram, which runs from September 30 to October 4.

Inspector Drake attempts to unravel a twisted plot, involving a doctor, a warthog and a lamp post in the living room.

AN accident with a garden rake sets the scene in Rossendale Players' Woman In Mind, by Alan Ayckbourn, at the New Millennium Theatre from September 27 - October 4 (excluding Monday 29).

One of Ayckbourn's darker comedies, the play charts the gradual mental collapse of a woman - Susan - following a gardening accident.

Starved of affectionate companionship and understanding love by a boring husband and priggish son, Susan conjures up an ideal family.

But gradually she begins to lose control.
