A LAST-gasp strike by Jamie Squires earned high flying Bamber Bridge all three points.

Dale dominated the early exachanges but Bridge forced their way back into the match and Barry Massey scored with a header on 32 minutes.

Dale equalised three minutes later with Greg Challender's first for the club.

Chances were created at both ends after the break but Squires snatched a late stoppage time winner for Bridge.

Chris Whittingham was unlucky not to register his first Rosendale goal, Bennett turning his header against a post, but as the half progressed the home side enjoyed longer periods of possession and Richard Fogarty went close on three occasions with shots from the edge of the box.

In the final couple of minutes both Clarke and Whittingham had chances to win it for Dale, but it was the home side who snatched all three points two minutes into stoppage time, Squires turning home a corner from close range.

There was little to choose between the two teams, with Dale playing the better football, whilst the home side relied heavily on the long ball. Bridge started off the game on the offensive and the Dale back four were at full stretch in the opening couple of minutes to keep the scores level.

Once things settled down, they started to produce some neat, attractive football and Doni Clarke almost opened the scoring on five minutes. He completely fooled Dave McCann with a quick turn before curling his shot inches wide of the far post. The Dale midfield man went close again two minutes later, spotting keeper Graham Bennett off his line he tried a chip from 35 yards but it floated just over the bar.
