POLICE were today hunting three men who punched and robbed a 16-year-old in Accrington.

The attack happened on the railway bridge over Scaitcliffe Street.

Detectives said the youth was approached by three men who attacked him and stole his navy blue record bag.

The incident took place between 3.05pm and 3.15pm on Saturday, September 20.

Police said the men asked the youngster for the time but when he replied he was pushed and threatened. He was then punched in the head.

One of the attackers was described as 30 years old with shaven hair and a tanned complexion. He was wearing a black hooded top and beige trousers. He spoke with a local accent, had a stocky build and discoloured teeth.

Another was also white, 19 to 20 years old, 6ft tall, had short blond hair shaved at the sides, a large gold hoop above his left eye and was wearing a dark blue top and tracksuit bottoms, a gold sovereign ring on a middle finger and a gold chain wrapped around another finger.

The third was described as white, with brown hair, large build and was wearing a blue baseball cap.
