AN IRISH quintet set to become a huge music sensation is ready to rock Lancaster.
The Thrills are impressing music lovers across the world with their sun-drenched catchy tunes - and their newest release 'Santa Cruz' is already blasting from local radio stations.
The talented 23-year-olds have soaked up some great moments in the past year already, which include being nominated for a Mercury Music Prize alongside Radiohead and Coldplay. Now they are to showcase at Lancaster University's Great Hall.
Keys player Kevin Horan told the Citizen: "Although we have done four tours, this is our first one of serious venues. We are going to places where big names have headlined and, having been to Japan and America, it will be good to get back to the UK and Ireland."
The band will perform a host of new songs at the gig, and Kevin says: "It will be interesting to see how they go down because we are not trying to make them parodies. We are in a very different frame of mind than we were when we wrote the old songs."
Their album 'So Much For The City' was released in June and shot to the top of the Irish chart for three weeks and rose to number three in the UK.
He says winning the NME best debut single award was also a fantastic moment for the band, who have been together since they were 15.
But he admits that their biggest break was a personal invitation from Morrissey, who had heard their demo tape, leading to a debut in London.
The Thrills appear at Lancaster University on Wednesday November 26.
