VISITORS to Pendle Council's offices tomorrow could get a shock to see staff without their usual suits.

Workers are being encouraged to go to work in jeans to support Jeans for Genes day, a fundraising appeal.

Members of the public are invited to get involved too.

Staff who choose casual clothing will have to pay £1 to the appeal, which funds research into genetic disorders.

Visitors who dress down for the day can also contribute cash at Nelson Town Hall.

Rachel Haworth, promotions assistant and Jeans for Genes co-ordinator for the council, said: "I hope staff and members of the public will enjoy dressing down on this important day."
