PHIL McVeigh of Westleigh High School has been recognised for his outstanding maths teaching ability.
The 29-year-old has been made an Advanced Skills Teacher after a rigorous application and assessment process.
This means Phil will be responsible for the most talented students at the school to ensure they gain A*'s and A's. He will also visit other schools and help them advance their maths teaching.
Westleigh High has just invested in the latest maths hardware and software with the help of Leigh EAZ to improve its maths department further.
