LEIGH RMI hope their recent disastrous run can be turned around at the expense of Conference newcomers Aldershot at Hilton Park on Saturday writes David Magilton.

The Railwaymen have slipped down the table after picking up just one point in six matches, but victories in their two home games in the next four days can give them a much needed fillip.

Manager Mark Patterson, who was given the support of his chairman Bill Taylor earlier this week, says that a couple of victories would give the club just the tonic they need.

"We have had a bad patch but the lads are in good spirit and have trained well," he said. "We need a couple of wins to give us a lift."

Aldershot have started well but lost their last three away games so we will be going all out against them."

Patterson has no injury worries with Gerry Harrison available after recovering from a shoulder injury, and Gary Kelly recovered from a back complaint, but Leigh are without defenders Martyn Lancaster, for the second of his three match ban, and Paul Shepherd, who is suspended for one game.

Fourth placed Aldershot have been formidable at home, picking up 16 of a possible 18 points, but have not been able to match that form away from the Recreation Ground. Striker Tim Sills has quickly made his mark on the Conference banging home six goals
