LORENZO Amoruso could be missing for the foreseeable future after Graeme Souness revealed last night that the Italian defender requires surgery.
The former Rangers star has been booked in for an exploratory operation tomorrow in a bid to get to the root of the knee problem that has been troubling him since the start of the season.
As yet, it's unclear exactly how long the 32-year-old will be sidelined for.
But, with Craig Short and Markus Babbel still a week away from a possible first team, his absence is another unwelcome headache for Souness at a time when he is desperate for a clean sheet.
"We'll have a better idea of what's wrong with him once they've had a look with the camera," said Souness.
