A TEACHER at Great Harwood Secondary Modern School, Miss Elizabeth Parry, believed she had seen a flying saucer from her home on Irving Place, Blackburn.
The saucer, she said, was a small disc which hung in the sky for about seven seconds then receded as quickly as it came.
"A blinking flop" was how lieutenant Colonel Marcus Lipton described, in the Commons, flashing beacons on zebra crossings.
