A THIEF snatched a purse from a 63-year-old woman on the doorstep of her home in Bury.
The pensioner was trying to unlock the front door of her home in Nuttall Street yesterday at about 4.20pm when a man crept up behind her.
He tried to grab her shopping bag, but only managed to steal her purse before running away. The woman was not injured but was left shaken.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to call Bury CID on 0161 856 8150, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
