THE chairman of Ribble Valley Licensed Victuallers' Association criticised magistrates for calling time on Christmas Eve drinking.
Bob Davies said the decision not to extend the 10.30pm deadline would mean drivers would dash back to Blackburn in order to get an extra drink in pubs with an 11.30pm extension. This, he said, could lead to deaths on the road.
