Call me petty, accuse me of over reacting but I've got something I want to get off my chest -- my shirt!

Let me explain.

As some of you may know by now, I play football in the Witton Park seven-a-side League and have done so for far too long.

We don't cause trouble, probably contribute less than most to the league's end of season party fund (I mean fines) -- and have been relatively successful.

But I want to have a little moan.

It's regarding our football strip. We wear the Blackburn Rovers red and black away strip from a few season's back while one of our players wears the red and black shirt of the Le Saux/Batty punch-up era. Basically, we couldn't get one to fit man-mountain Tucker, but they are all the same colour and for the past few seasons we have had no problems.

This season however, we have twice been told to remove the offending article -- by the same referee -- as 'rules are rules' and we must be wearing the same shirt.

From that point of view he is absolutely right but what's wrong with a little lenience?

Afterall, this is Witton not Ewood Park. Of course, I have another reason to complain because it's usually me, as super sub, who has to give up his top. So by the time I get to play, the top I get to pull on is usually soaking wet in sweat or rain -- and it's never my one!

To add injury to insult, he let one lad come on a sub last week wearing a completely different shirt to his team-mates.

Some come on ref, give us a break and let us wear our mix-and-match football kit!
