BLACKBURN Drama Club is going back to the classics for a stimulating interpretation of Robert Bolt's much loved epic drama A Man For All Seasons.
The play tells the story of the struggle between the young King Henry VIII and his chancellor Thomas More.
Depicting the conflict between church and state, the play, first produced at the Globe in 1960, is best known for its film version starring Paul Schofield.
Throughout the play More's eloquence and saintliness in the face of ever growing threats to his beliefs and family earn him the status of one of modern drama's greatest tragic heroes.
The play will be performed from tomorrow to Saturday December 6 at The Thwaites Empire Theatre. Tickets (£6 and £5) are available on (01254) 680137.
