IN response to Maurice Rogers (LET November 25) the format for Remembrance Services in Darwen was decided at a public meeting in the St John Ambulance Hall, George Street, Darwen, on Thursday December 9, 1976.
This was attended by most of the interested parties, including members from Darwen Branch and Lancashire County of the Royal British Legion. The services closely followed the pattern set previous to unification of the boroughs.
I am in possession of the minutes of this meeting if anyone cares to see them.
BRYAN THOMPSON, President Royal British Legion, Darwen Branch.
