WHY on this earth (which is in urgent need of TLC) do people get hot under the collar about 'UGLY' wind farms, but shut their eyes to the millions of pylons which cover the country like a malevolent spider's web?
The whole world demands electricity so it has to be supplied. Does this mean that we have to use any means necessary? In my opinion it does, but why not use renewable energy wherever possible instead.
'Name and address supplied' (Letters November 26) makes a point about governments bribing landowners to acquire land. How does he/she think motorways, industrial expansion and huge housing estates come about? I'm quite sure the landowners did not give up their acres as a service to the Government.
