A PRIMARY school is leading the way in keeping its pupils fit and active in and out of lessons.
Higher Folds Junior and Infants' School at Leigh is celebrating winning a national Activemark award which recognises schools that show a commitment to promoting the benefits of physical activity.
Cabinet member for lifelong learning Cllr Brian Wilson said: "More and more young people are in danger of becoming overweight as a result of their diet and lifestyle. These schools are leading the way in providing children with a positive experience of sport and physical activity."
