PADIHAM Football Club have paid tribute to life member Albert Coward, who died aged 91.
And the Storks are set to discuss plans to establish a memorial trophy to commemorate the lifelong supporter when they hold their next meeting in the New Year.
"Albert really was part of the furniture," said Padiham secretary Alan Smith.
"I know he'd been a supporter ever since the club was reformed in 1949 and he was a regular at the Arbories in winter and summer.
"He was a very well liked person and what we called a footballing gentleman.
"He rarely swore and didn't drink so such. I think I have the only photo of him with a glass of shandy in his hand."
He added: "The thing about Albert was, he never looked his age. You would never have thought he was 91.
"He was pretty unique and loved his football, and sport in general.
"I suspect that we will have a memorial trophy in recognition of Albert to keep his name associated with the club because he will be missed."
