AS a retired teacher, I was absolutely thrilled to read the article on Brian Bibby searching for recognition via Coronation Street (December 11).
I remember Brian as a third year at Spring Bank Secondary School (many other teachers will also remember).
What artistic potential the lad had! Unfortunately he did not have the then required achievements in other academic areas. In this day and age that would make no difference.
'Good on ya Brian!' I congratulate him for maintaining his interest and skill. Come on Darreners and our local council, let's see his work in the library, Sunnyhurst Woods and (dare I mention) the new health centre. Darreners support Darwen; let Darwen with Blackburn support a Darwen lad!
