NA NEWLY-appointed officer has said she will relish the challenge of boosting regeneration in communities across Pendle.
Andrea Goodall has been appointed by Pendle Council to develop a series of workshops for voluntary and community groups in Brierfield, Nelson and Colne.
She will also be working to improve information and communication skills in regeneration projects throughout the borough.
Andrea, whose official title will be community economic development (CED) events officer, will be based in the Waterbridge Resource Centre, Colne, for three days a week to support volunteers and help promote the availability of small grants for the community.
She will also oversee the information and communication technology part of Pendle's European Regional Development Fund regeneration programmes.
This will involve working with the managers of projects such as Pendle Portal, Now!Network Learning and Employment Access in Pendle.
Andrea said: " I am really looking forward to helping some of the fantastic projects in the area that are benefiting from Pendle Partnership's ERDF funding.
"I will be organising a series of workshops and events for community and voluntary groups and I hope as many people as possible will take up these opportunities."
To prepare for the job Andrea has been visiting ERDF-funded projects such as the Brierfield Cyber Cafe.
Andrea will be at the Waterbridge Resource Centre in Colne on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and at 75 Every Street, Nelson, on Fridays. She can be contacted on 01282 661253 in Colne and on 01282 661963 in Nelson.
