PENDLE Mayor Mohammed Iqbal is to host an event for Asian businesspeople in Colne tomorrow will host a charity dinner for the Asian Business Federation (ABF), expected to be attended by representatives from more than 200 businesses.
The event will raise money for the Mayoress' Charity Fund, which will benefit the Pendle branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the neo-natal intensive care unit at Burnley General Hospital.
Coun Iqbal said: "We want as many members of the minority ethnic community to take part as possible.
"If members can't make the event, they can still make a donation.
"There will be entertainment and we are hoping to raise a significant amount for two important local charities."
Khalid Saifullah, chief executive of the ABF, which represents 600 minority ethnic businesses across Lancashire, said: "This event will be a good opportunity for members to learn more about how the ABF can help their business to grow and succeed."
