PEOPLE in Tockholes have got behind a campaign to revitalise their village hall.
They were asked last month to fill out a questionnaire supporting moves to refurbish and modernise the kitchen in the hall which has fallen into disrepair.
The hall was being used less because people holding events were having to bring in caterers rather than being able to cook on site because of the state of the kitchen itself and the age of the equipment.
Blackburn with Darwen community development officer Julie Astley set the wheels in motion to submit a bid for cash. It was agreed that a grant should be applied for through the countryside agency's Vital Villages scheme, aimed at helping small rural communities revitalise their villages.
Sean Carroll from the village hall committee said: "We have a positive response from villagers with around 50 questionnaires being sent back in support of the bid."
