LEE Sculpher is urging his team to tighten up in a bid to tie up the title.
Clitheroe are in the driving seat for the North West Counties League Division One championship, three points behind Mossley but poised to strike with two games in hand.
However, when scanning his team's healthy-looking league record, Sculpher winces when he sees the ailing goals against column.
"We've almost let in as many goals this seaosn as we did through the whole of last seaosn," said the Blues boss.
"We have to improve our goals against record, we've concededf too mnay sloppy ones from set pieces.
"For example, we conceded two late golas against Abbey Hey when we were 3-0 up so the result doesn't look as good as it would have beenif it was nil against.
"It was the same against Squires Gate, 5-0 up and conceding two sloppy, goals so I've stressed to the players to cut out thye bad habits. If we're difficult to score agaisnt we'll be more diffficult to beat."
Sculpher isn't planning any drastic personnel changes in his bid to stem the flow of goals, instead working on the ematl approach of his players which will be crucial to their fortunes in the title run-in.
He added: "It's complacency. We've been conceding goals when we're winning games but the day will come where we're at 0-0 and the players will bet edgy because they're not used to keeping clean sheets.
"But if we'd been doing it right we would be fully confiedent of doing that."
But ocnfiedetn is exactly what the Clitheroe boss is, especially after Mossley's dip in form, whihc has seen los einthe lageu to Nantwich and crash out of the FA Vase and League Challenge Cup in consecutive weeks.
Although Clitheore themselves also went out of the cup last Saturday when Bacup beat them at Shawbridge, this has paved the way for a final push in the last 16 league games, starting tomorrow at home to Congleton Town.
