HATS off to the residents of Mellor for fighting for what they believe in. But may I suggest one simple solution? When the vote for the regional assembly takes place, get out in force and vote no.
From Rossendale originally and now in Blackburn for the last three years, I have been amazed at the time and money that seems to have been spent by various officials deciding how our local boroughs are carved up.
Perhaps they have too much time on their hands, or perhaps they feel it is a done deal.
I have no political leanings, but want less government not more. So for the residents of Mellor, Langho and anywhere else concerned, just get out and vote 'no' to the regional assembly.
