THE BOSS of an East Lancashire lap dancing bar is hoping to raise £4,000 for two cancer charities.

The Velvet Lounge, in Duke Street, Blackburn has already hosted a fundraising ladies' night and will hold a 'men only' event tomorrow.

Both evenings feature a champagne reception followed by a meal and entertainment.

On Sunday, around 80 female guests enjoyed a Chippendale-style show by the Dream Boys which was raised funds for Cancer and Leukaemia In Children (CLICK).

CLICK is a national organisation which provides support to the families of children with cancer including respite care and holidays.

Owner Georgia Elliott says male guests who attend Wednesday's event will be treated to a sportman's dinner with a twist to raise money for The Christie cancer hospital in Manchester.

She said: "I have lost a couple of family members to cancer and I always said when I started the business that although it is about taking, you also have to give something back. I know it is a very different way of raising money for charity but it is definitely a fun way."

Wednesday's event, which will also feature a comedian, will conclude with a stage show of girls dancing, including pole dancing, followed by the opportunity for a private lap dance. In addition to money raised from ticket sales, Georgia hopes to boost the pot by auctioning signed football shirts and other sports goodies.
