A CONMAN tricked his way into the home of an 80-year-old woman and ransacked her rooms.
The man told the pensioner he was clearing the drains before talking his way into the house in Hope Street, Ramsbottom, just before 2.30pm on Friday (Feb 20).
He went in all the rooms, tipping the contents of drawers and bags on to the floor, but left empty-handed. The woman was not injured.
Bury CID is appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the bogus caller to contact officers on 0161 856 8150 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
