RADCLIFFE Borough's hopes of making next season's Conference Two North took a further blow when they lost 2-1 at home to Runcorn FC Halton on Tuesday night.

Simon Kelly fired Borough ahead in the ninth minute of this Unibond Premier Division clash, but former Radcliffe midfielder Lee Kissock equalised from the spot on the hour.

Tom Spearitt's stunning 87th-minute strike sealed the win for the visitors and left Radcliffe in 16th place in the table.

ATHERTON LR were thumped 5-2 at Ramsbottom United in their rearranged North West Counties League First Division clash.

Three first-half goals in eight minutes, scored by Matt Swailes, Lee Buggie and Danny Heyes, put the Rams in control at the break.

Gareth Gardiner made it four five minutes into the second half, before Atherton pulled two back with a Ben Obong penalty and a Jason Kay goal.

Gardiner added his second two minutes from time to kill off the visitors.
