IS the constant whingeing about speed cameras ever going to end? asks N Lewin of Darwen (LET, April 17).
I can tell this person that the answer to that is NO!
Everyone now knows this IS just another way of raising money from easy targets (motorists) and if anyone cares to monitor the behaviour of pedestrians who are increasingly stepping out in front of moving traffic either without looking, or some do look but still walk out in front of the vehicle anyway.
Is it any wonder so many people get injured. But the blame is always diverted from the pedestrian in an attempt to keep the argument going for the increase in speed cameras and this ridiculous obsession with speed humps and road narrowing.
It is time we got rid of the car-hating Labour council and government.
