ROSSENDALE United manager Jim McCluskie is urging his troops to battle on while it is still mathematically possible to be involved in the promotion shake-up.

Dale's hopes of moving up to the UniBond Premier Division were scuppered at the weekend by two controversial refereeing decisions, which led to them conceding two penalties, having stand-in goalkeeper Mark Molyneaux sent off while McCluskie himself was red carded for voicing his objections.

"That's not like me because I never moan about officials but the second penalty was the most atrocious decision I've ever seen in my playing or management career," he said.

"The lads were magnificent on Saturday when we were down to 10 men. It was a case of either sink or swim, and we did well to get a bit of momentum and get an equaliser.

"But no-one knew why he gave the penalty and that rocked us."

McCluskie knows Rossendale have to bounce back from that disappointment when they entertain Lincoln United tonight if they are to stand any chance of finishing the season in the top 13.

Joe Quinn (knee) and Phil Lockett (ankle) are both doubtful but goalkeeper Mark Andrews returns from suspension while Accrington Stanley have allowed Damien Hindle to be involved for Dale.

Chorley will be hoping Danny Queally will have recovered from a dead leg in time to feature in tonight's game at Kendal.

The striker missed the Magpies' 1-0 win at home to Leek Town on Saturday as a result of the injury he sustained against rivals Bamber Bridge on Easter Monday.

Chorley also have an outside chance of promotion from the UniBond First Division if they win their remaining two games.
