WAITING times for patients needing hip or knee replacements are set to to be slashed.
More than 400 NHS patients in the area will have their operations more quickly after the NHS signed a deal with the Nuffield private hospital in Lancaster.
It will be up to the local Primary Care Trusts to decide which patients are eligible for the early treatment.
