BURY Carnival is coming back with a bang.
The town's premier annual event will be staged by Bury Lions club at the Mosses car park in Cecil Street on Sunday, June 6 between 11am and 4pm.
It will be a welcome re-appearance for the carnival which did not go ahead last year.
The Lions are ready for the revival, and with the Community Foundation for Greater Manchester sponsoring the event, it is hoped that thousands of people will join in the fun.
Attractions include a stunt motorcyclist and performing dog. A funfair, inflatables and charity and commercial stalls will make it a big day.
The Army will give a display and the Fife and Drums Band and a band from Rochdale will perform in the arena.
Greater Manchester Police's crime prevention unit will also be represented.
Bury Lions staged the carnival for around 30 years before being forced to call it a day in 2000. The Bury Times Group stepped in and put on the event in 2001 and 2002. An upsurge in membership means that the Lions have taken over the helm once again.
