FOUR young thugs escaped with two bicycles when they stopped and threatened to teenager cyclists in Simister.
As the street robbery happened in broad day light on Sunday afternoon (Aug 8) , police believe there are a number of witnesses who witnesses the incident which happened at 2pm in Heywood Road.
The two male victims, aged 13 and 14, were riding on the pavement toward a group of four males who were stood against a wall. The gang blocked the path of the cyclists and threatened them with violence.
Police said the youngsters feared for their safety and reluctantly gave the bicycles to the quartet.
The offenders are described as three white males and one of mixed race, between 5ft and 5ft 9 ins tall, with short hair and all aged between 13 and 17 years. They were wearing caps, t-shirts and shorts or long trousers.
