FIVE young fundraisers from Lowton and Golborne Youth Council have raised £70 for a children's hospice.

Sarah Bailey, Emma Boffey, Sarah Bryan, Elizabeth Bryne and Rachael Edge ran a stall selling badges and painted faces at Manchester's Unity Festival, to raise money for Derian House in Chorley.

The project was organised with the help of Positive Futures youth workers Catherine Todd and Tony Russell.

Catherine said: "They worked really hard on this project and did fabulously well to raise so much.

"They were a pleasure to work with and it is great to see young people putting in a lot of time and effort for a very worthy cause."

Lowton and Golborne Youth Council is held every Tuesday at 6.30pm at the Broadmead Day Centre on Golborne Road.
