BANK staff were threatened with a gun during a terrifying armed robbery in Golborne on Tuesday.
A man wielding a handgun broke into the Royal Bank of Scotland on High Street at around 11am and demanded staff came out of a door where they hid after hearing the man enter the branch.
He lunged to try and get into the room when staff opened the door but they managed to close it.
A few moments later the man left the bank empty handed and jumped into a silver Vauxhall Astra that was later found on fire on Kings Road in Golborne.
No one was injured during the incident and a reward of £15,000 is being offered by the British Bankers Association for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robber.
The man has been described as approximately five feet seven inches tall and of medium build.
