COMPLAINTS made against Bury police have doubled. In a three-month period from April 1 this year, a total of 27 people made 38 allegations against officers.
During the same period last year, 14 complainants made 16 allegations.
Incivility and neglect of duty were this year's biggest gripes, with a combined total of 19 allegations, while there were four claims of assault, three of unlawful arrest and a similar number of racial discrimination accusations.
Five allegations were eventually withdrawn, 11 were resolved locally, and no further action was taken in other complaints. Nine allegations are still being investigated.
Throughout Greater Manchester Police, 356 complaints were made between April 1 and June 30, resulting in 485 allegations.
