OLD reminders of a troubled past were buried but not forgotten in a special ceremony last Sunday.
Members of the local Jewish community took part in a Holocaust memorial service at Agecroft Cemetery to remember those who lost their lives during the Second World War.
The annual event was organised by the 45 Aid Society and also provided an opportunity for a special ceremony to take place in respect of Hillock Hebrew Congregation.
As reported in the Guide, the synagogue in Beverley Close, Whitefield, suffered a series of vandal attacks before safety fencing was erected.
During one of the arson attacks, vandals damaged a Jewish prayer shawl, the Tallit and a Jewish prayer book which were buried at Agecroft during the memorial service.
