LOCAL businesses are being given a further opportunity to have a say on the area's community strategy at the next meeting of the Bury Economic Forum.

Heather Clark, strategy, European and resources manager with Bury Council, will be putting forward a paper on the economic theme of the community strategy on Wednesday, October 6 between 8.30am and 10am.

The latest meeting of the Bury Economic Forum will be held at the Businesslodge in Barcroft Street, Bury.

The community strategy is the main vision and framework for the borough which aims to improve the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of Bury's communities.

The strategy influences mainstream funding allocations and informs funding bids. Previously, the community strategy has been discussed at forum meetings. But this particular event will allow an exchange of ideas with the local authority on how the borough should be moving forward.

Kay Gregson, director of membership at Chamber Business Connections, said: "This meeting will enable local businesses to input into and influence the way that Bury Council takes the borough forward.

"This is the opportunity to help shape our own future. The community strategy represents the vision for that future and it is vital that local businesses play their part to help ensure prosperity for the borough in the years to come."

Any business representative wishing to attend should contact Kay on 01204 336099.
