A MAN has made his first appearance at crown court accused of murdering a Fylde woman found strangled to death in a disused stable.
Benjamin Roberts, 41, of High Leigh Walk, Barrow, appeared before Preston Crown Court on Monday accused of killing, Geraldine Evans, 42.
Miss Evans - a diagnosed schizophrenic - was discovered by two workmen working at stables close to the Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary, off Queensway, St Annes, on September 16.
Roberts, formerly of Medlock Avenue, Fleetwood, has been remanded in custody and will appear before the court on Monday, November 29.
Earlier this week an inquest - held by Fylde coroner Anne Hind - into the death of Miss Evans was adjourned so that funeral arrangements and crown court proceedings could take place.
