POLICE are urging residents in the borough not to put criminals on their gift list.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have revealed that mobile phones, MP3 players, laptops, plasma-screen televisions and DVD players are most wanted by thieves and burglars.
Between November 2003 and October this year, mobile phones were taken in more than half ( 53.8 per cent) of robbery offences and since 2002, the theft of MP3 Players has been highlighted as an emerging trend.
Detective Superintendent Gerry Donnellan, of GMP, said: "Keep valuables out of sight while on the street or at home, and you can help make sure it is criminals that have a miserable Christmas and not you."
