SOME customers have started treating charity shops like boot sales.

The number trying to haggle down the prices has increased so much that Leigh's hospice shop has been forced to put up a sign stating "We are not a car boot sale. We do not barter".

I know the price of contributed goods has risen considerably in these shops over the years, but the hospice shop is one of the cheapest of the nine in Leigh, and it is sickening that customers have the cheek to want to come to a deal with the volunteers who don't wish to be placed in a position to argue.

Why not think about the terminally sick people you are supposed to be helping and cough up the asking price, you miserable lot.
