ATHERTON and Tyldesley Round Table have given Wigan and Leigh Hospice a £5,000 tonic as a result of this year's successful beer bash.

The money will be used to create two professional publicity videos and dvds.

One is expected to be hard hitting and targeted at fund raising, while the other will be educational for patients and their families and could also be played in hospitals and doctors' surgeries as well as being linked to the website.

On behalf of the Tablers, Paul Barber, said: "We would like to thank everybody who contributed to the beer festival and helped us to make this donation, as well as others that have already been made to Francis House Children's Hospice, Jennyruth Workshops and Childflight."
