WHAT a shambles in the council's education department -- that "excellent" council too!
Deputy head John Hacking of Lammack Primary School was guilty of poor taste but does not seem to have done anything really serious.
We seem to live in a world with no give and take, no sense of humour, and with an overwhelming need to find someone to blame, needing at all times to avoid the charge of racism.
If unions are correct in their estimate then presumably the £250,000 will have to be paid for by the poor old council tax payers.
Will the boss of education -- David Hollings -- reassure us that lessons have been learned and such costs will not be incurred in the future by pursuing such trivia?
His department has not covered itself in glory up to now.
