SCRUalf John Duffy steered Leigh Centurions into a Challenge Cup fifth round home tie with Halifax by setting up three second-half tries with his slight of hand in the 25-8 win over Batley Bulldogs.

But, despite losing their playmaker, Mark Toohey, after only three minutes of the game with a bang on the head, the Bulldogs made their Super League opponents fight all the way.

When wingman Adrian Flynn roared in for his second try in the opening minutes of the second half to make the score 8-10, a shock victory looked on the cards but Duffy, who had a hand in every one of Leigh's tries, stepped in to make the big difference.

The fifth round clash with Halifax at Hilton Park will take place on the weekend of May 7-8.
