DUETISTS Tom Berry and Simon Minshall scored a golden double for the Astley Youth Band at the Ramsbottom Festival.

Tom on trombone helped Simon on bass trombone keep The Minshall Family Trophy in the family in the open duet class and went on to collect the Doctor Kalavan and Dr Champa Loomba Trophy on euphonium in the 16 and under duet class.

Playing bass trombone Simon completed his trophy hat-trick winning the open solo class and the Meredith Delicatessen Trophy.

The band collected 10 trophies overall. Other results were: The Trinity Trophy 9 and under solo class: 1 Alana Evans (French horn), 2 Alana Evans (tenor horn), 3 Fern Evans (alto trombone).

Astley Band Trophy, 10-11 solo class: 1 Peter Athans (cornet), 2 Bryony Evans (flugel horn), 3 Rohit Jepegnanam (tenor horn).

B & C Gregory trophy, 12-13 solo class: 1 Carys Evans (French horn), 2 James McGougan (flugel horn), 3 Samantha Minshall (tuba).

M Gardner Trophy 14-15 solo class: 1 Kirsten Broadhurst (flugel horn), 2 Craig Mann (tuba), 3 Michael Clegg (cornet).

Roger Greenlees Trophy 16-17 solo class: 1 Louise Harrison (euphonium).

Meredith Delicatessen Trophy open solo class: 2 Louise Harrison (euphonium), 2 Carys Evans (French horn).

The Holcombe Brook Music Society Trophy 12 and under duet class: 1 Jack Berry (soprano cornet) and James McGougan (flugel horn), 2 Adam Jordan and Rohit Jepegnanam (both tenor horn).

Dr Kalayan and Dr Champa Loomba Trophy: 2 Samantha Minshall and Rachel Leighton (both tuba), 3 Mark Harrison (soprano cornet) and \mstthew Woodward (cornet).

Minshall Family Trophy: 2 Louise Harrison and Rebecca Hurst (both euphonium).
